Precisely measured gas

Messer has concluded a supply contract with Hella Gutmann Solutions GmbH in Ihringen for gas mixtures for exhaust gas testing in cylinders as well as 6,000 custom-made pressure cans and the appropriate fittings.

Messer, the largest privately managed industrial gases specialist, has been supplying Hella Gutmann Solutions GmbH, a manufacturer of diagnostic instruments for motor vehicles, with the Lambda Mix A1 for calibrating and testing exhaust gas measuring instruments since October. In addition, some 6,000 one-litre aluminium pressure cans a year will be produced with a label of both companies by Messer in Switzerland and subsequently sold to customers through the company catalogue of the Hella Gutmann Solutions GmbH. The Lambda Mix A1 will be used for the obligatory annual local calibration of exhaust gas measuring instruments. This involves the gas mixture in the pressure cans being measured with the diagnostic instruments. The fact that the reference values of the Lambda Mix A1 are known enables possible deviations to be detected and a precise calibration of the exhaust gas measuring instrument to be carried out. Messer will supply special pressure can fittings – manufactured by Spectron Gas Control Systems, a sister company of Messer Group – for withdrawing the gas.

Since the signing of the contract with Hella Gutmann Messer resume sales of the Lambda Mix A1 in pressure cans in Germany.

Hella Gutmann Solutions GmbH is a joint venture between automotive supplier Hella and Gutmann Messtechnik. The company has been making use of its pooled expertise and synergies since 2008 and is a partner to garages and workshops.
