Even Messer stays in the dark: Earth Hour 2019

"Earth Hour" - this is an hour for nature. For the second time, industrial gases specialist Messer shuts off its lights at all locations in Germany. On March 30, between 8.30 pm and 9.30 pm, millions of people will once again participate in the worldwide initiative of the WWF.

Without air, life cannot exist. Nature has a high priority in everyday business life at Messer: the family-owned company not only obtains its most important products nitrogen and oxygen from the air, the industrial gases manufacturer is constantly working on the reduce of greenhouse gases and waste as well as to reduce fuel and water consumption. "We are committed to protecting our environment and the climate. To do this, we not only improve our own processes: we develop gas applications that make our customers' production processes more resource-efficient," explains Stefan Messer, owner and CEO of Messer Group GmbH.

The less power the Messer production facilities consume, the better for nature. That's why Messer has its own Global Energy Officer, responsible for energy efficiency in the production of gases. But gases themselves are as important in producing many everyday products as water and electricity. Messer is focusing on environmentally friendly technologies.

Since 2013, Messer has voluntarily published a sustainability report every year, in which the company presents its global activities for the protection of the environment and the climate in a comprehensible manner.
