Serbian copper mine supplied by Messer

Messer Tehnogas AD, the Serbian subsidiary of Messer Group, the industrial gases specialist, has won the contract to supply oxygen to Serbia’s RTB Bor (Rudnici bakra Bor d.o.o.) copper combine for the next five years. Messer Tehnogas will take over the existing gaseous oxygen production facilities for 2.5 million euros and conclude a pipeline deal with the copper foundry. The oxygen production unit has been in operation since 1978, producing up to 3300 cubic metres of gaseous oxygen per hour to keep the foundry operation supplied. Smaller quantities of liquid oxygen, related to particular processes, serve as back-up and as cover for peak loads. Rudnici bakra Bor invited tenders for the gas supply contract on the 18th of May. Messer Tehnogas was the sole bidder.
