Messer sponsors scholarships

Industrial gas specialist Messer is sponsoring a scholarship programme at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in North Rhine-Westphalia. Starting in the next summer semester, Messer will offer at least three scholarships, initially for one year. The privately run company aims to establish contacts with talented young people studying mechanical engineering and process engineering, chemical engineering and automation engineering. With its sponsorship of the programme from the Ministry of Innovation, Science, Research and Technology in North Rhine-Westphalia, Messer would like to underline the company’s extensive commitment to the promotion of young talent.

This project is the latest addition to the wide-ranging cooperation between the Niederrhein university and the Messer Group: last year Messer established a technical centre at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences for the development of new technology in the area of welding and cutting. The proximity of Germany’s tenth largest university of applied sciences to Messer’s Krefeld site, where its research and technology development is located, and its infrastructure, offer ideal conditions for partnership and collaboration. Messer also supports “run” – a university initiative for regional enterprise – which offers help for students and graduates at the start of their professional careers.
