Food industry networking events with practical workshops

Messer offers workshops on gases for the food industry

Gases specialist Messer is inviting food industry professionals to workshops in Krefeld. These continuing education seminars on sustainability, cooling and alternative protein sources will be held in June under the banner “Nutrition 2.0 – Feed your food knowledge.” Online registration is already being accepted. Gases increase the efficiency of processing methods and extend the shelf life of food. They play a decisive role in the manufacture of vegan and vegetarian products.

The Messer workshops will take place on June 21 and 22, 2023, in the company’s technology center in Krefeld. Participants are free to book either of the two days. Along with theoretical background in the form of detailed global presentations, they also focus primarily on practical exercises and testing performed on state-of-the-art machinery and equipment. Moreover, the sessions will provide plenty of opportunity for personal interaction and open networking among participating specialists.

Food-grade gases are indispensable both for innovative approaches and many proven methods. As a food gases specialist, Messer has extensive expertise in this area. The possibilities that the use of gases opens up and the objectives that they help achieve are the main focus of three workshops highlighting different facets of interest.

Climate change, global population growth and highly dynamic market conditions present serious challenges for food producers and processors. The trend toward vegan and vegetarian foods demands constant innovation; the CO2 footprint of production and logistics operations should be minimized. At the same time, avoiding food waste and ensuring the longest possible product shelf life are becoming increasingly important.

The “Sustainable food production” workshop concerns the optimal production and processing of food for extending shelf life and maintaining high product quality. The session on “Solutions for the cold chain” provides an overview of regulatory requirements relative to CO2 reduction during transport and presents practical cooling solutions ranging from the end user box to the truck superstructure.

The “Future of food and alternative protein sources” workshop examines future challenges and sustainable food products.
