Messer: “Accessibility is particularly important at the moment”

The group of affiliated companies comprising Messer Industriegase, Messer Cutting & Welding and Castolin Eutectic will demonstrate that they are “Joint in expertise” at the trade fair Welding & Cutting 2009 in Essen.

“As a family-owned company, we seek direct contact with the customer, especially in times of crisis, and of course we are not afraid of being directly compared with our competitors.” For Stefan Messer, owner of the Messer Group, it is important that not only products and services be demonstrated at a trade fair such as the international Welding & Cutting trade fair (the leading fair in the industry which takes place in Essen from September 14 to 19) but also, and above all, it is important to show proximity to the customer. “On some days I will be on site to greet and provide information to visitors at our stand.” Incidentally, Messer has already gained one important customer: The organiser, Messe Essen, has chosen the industrial gas specialist as its exclusive partner for supplying gases.

In Hall 6, Booth 208, the sister companies Messer Industriegase, Messer Cutting & Welding and Castolin Eutectic, as well as MesserSoft, will therefore not only be jointly exhibiting their products covering all aspects of welding and cutting technology on the 850 m³ available to them. The companies, which became completely family-owned four years ago, wish above all to demonstrate customer benefit through a coordinated product and service strategy. “Customers receive the complete range of solutions from a single source – from gas to equipment technology and process know-how, through to accessories, filler materials, specific IT solutions and service. It is important for us to make the customers of the various group companies more aware of the relevant products offered by the other companies. This complementary aspect can only be conveyed at a proper Group stand,” says Stefan Messer.

A product range tailored to the customer

Messer Industriegase will be presenting itself at the joint stand with a programme involving shielding gases for welding as well as fuel and laser gases. Completely newly-developed gas mixtures comprising three harmonised components are designed to make welding applications more cost-effective by reducing reworking. They are also aimed at enhancing the quality of laser welding through increasing process security and reducing the risk of porosity – Messer intends to prove this capability with live demonstrations at the stand.Messer Cutting & Welding will be exhibiting the multiprocess system MultiTherm® which combines plasma, oxy-fuel and fibre laser technology in a single machine. The enhanced fibre laser cutting system Fiberblade is sure to be a highlight thanks to its low maintenance and cutting costs. The programme relating to all aspects of thermal cutting will be complemented by advice relating to replacement/wearing parts and modernisation services. The experts on oxy-fuel technology will be presenting combinable burners for welding, soldering, heating and flame cutting, including the new MS932 plus nozzles. MesserSoft will be presenting the OmniCalc 2009 Professional in Essen, the new entry-level version of the professional costing and production control software OmniCalc. With its focus on quotation calculation, OmniCalc 2009 Professional builds directly on OmniWin Professional and thus provides a simple way for the user to begin integrated production planning. The complete solution OmniCalc 2009 Enterprise, which is designed to further enhance the cost-effectiveness of core business processes in burning and welding technology, will also be on show. One of the features Castolin Eutectic, a leading provider of professional solutions in the fields of repair, maintenance and wear protection, will be presenting at Welding & Cutting is the first NanoAlloy®, which was developed jointly with the pioneers in this sector and is already protected by 15 patent applications. With over 8,000 documented applications, the TeroLink® database is an important and efficient instrument for constant know-how exchange. Also on display will be the new, wear-resistant CastoTubes® and the fully-automatic PTA devices, which can also be connected to robot and customer-specific systems.
