Messer: “A strong foundation for health.”

Messer lays the foundation stone for the new headquarters of the medical gases and medical and health technology division in Gumpoldskirchen, Austria.

“Our medical product advisors are available 365 days a year to answer patients’ questions on every aspect of our portfolio of products and services. These conversations can be very intimate, as I’m sure you can imagine.” For Stefan Messer, CEO and owner of the specialist industrial gases company of the same name, the new Messer Medical headquarters also symbolise the harmony between his family company’s commercial activities and its values. Messer has laid the foundation stone for a new service building on the Messer Austria site in Gumpoldskirchen. The warehouse for medical products is also being expanded from 300 to 1,000 square metres, and in future Medical Austria will also operate two modern workshops for rehabilitation equipment, such as wheelchairs, as well as for the maintenance and repair of medical devices.

Direct customer contact, 365 days a year

The strategy is to exploit synergies – for the good of the customer: “The new warehouse space facilitates the cost-saving use of containers, and we can deliver ex warehouse without customers having to wait,” explains Matthias Thiele, one of the two Managing Directors of Messer Medical. He sees short delivery times and constant availability as essential in the treatment of patients and people who are in need of care. “Thanks to our in-house emergency service, we are available 24 hours a day, including at weekends.” Messer Medical’s products and services are close to the customer. Messer’s expertise in medical gases such as oxygen, nitrous oxide or nitrogen for cryotherapy also plays a vital role. However, there is more to the applications than the valuable components of air: “We offer the full range of equipment for oxygen, sleep and respiratory therapy or inhalation, which can be customised directly to patient requirements by the qualified medical product advisors who work in our Service Center,” explains Matthias Thiele. “Naturally, the new headquarters of Messer Medical are designed to provide unrestricted access and offer ample parking for people with disabilities.” As can be seen from the product range, Messer Medical also specialises in the monitoring of patients and babies, as well as in storage and in heating systems, right through to disposable products. The customer base is not limited to patients. Messer Medical Austria’s new Service Center advises and supplies to medical, accident and social insurance companies, clinics, care and rehabilitation facilities, general medical practitioners, vets and laboratories. Emergency services and mobile units from the home care sector can also get information about our medical products and purchase them locally.
