Messer to showcase portfolio at Formnext in Frankfurt.

Gases for 3D printing of metals

From November 16th to 19th, 2021, Messer will be showcasing its range of solutions covering every aspect of 3D printing of metals at “Formnext” in Frankfurt, the leading industry platform for additive manufacturing and industrial 3D printing.

Messer’s dedicated product line specifically developed for this field is called “Addline”. It includes shielding gases, conveying gases and cooling gases which are used in the production, transportation and storage of powder materials as well as in the actual printing process and subsequent heat treatment.

“Our gases cover all additive manufacturing processes, regardless of whether they are single or multi-stage processes,” emphasizes Dirk Kampffmeyer, Application Technology Welding Manager at Messer.

Visitors to “Formnext” will have the opportunity to learn all about the world’s largest privately run gases specialist’s solutions for the three most important metal printing processes: Powder Bed Fusion – Laser Beam (PBF-LB), Direct Energy Deposition – Laser Beam (DED-LB) and Direct Energy Deposition – Arc (DED-Arc), also known as Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM).

Messer’s gases and applications know-how and expertise can be experienced live at Stand D58 in Hall 12.0. The trade fair will be held as an in-person event subject to Germany’s “2G rule”, requiring visitors either to be fully vaccinated or to have recovered from Covid-19. For those who cannot attend “Formnext” in person, the organizers will be providing the alternative of “Formnext Digital Days”, which will take place online from November 30th to December 1st, 2021.
