From 4 pm to 7 pm on 27 and 28 November, visitors of all stripes can once again shop for handicrafts, jewellery, home accessories, fashion and much much more at the Bad Soden Christmas market initiated by the family-run company Messer. With its contemplative atmosphere, the historical backdrop at the Bad Soden train station is an invitation to just linger. The extensive range of culinary delicacies turns any visit into a treat for the taste buds. As in previous years, the sales generated by Messer at the Christmas market booths will be donated to the children’s cancer charity “Hilfe für krebskranke Kinder Frankfurt e.V.”

This year it is all about arts and crafts: On Wednesday, children from the day-care centres Max Baginski, Sankt Katharina, Am Hübenbusch and Sonnenburg will be decorating four Christmas trees for the grand opening at 4 pm. Inside the historical train station, visitors will be designing their Christmas cards in their own personal style, participate in the Christmas painting programme of the children’s hospice in Hanau, or take part in completing colourful ebru paintings. On Thursday between 4 pm and 5 pm and between 5.30 pm and 7.30 pm, there will also be a folding session of artistic origami stars. This is rounded off by Christmas carols on Thursday at around 5.30 pm, sung with good cheer by the “Theo Choir” (from Theodor-Heuss Elementary School) in the glow of the street lights.

Once again, the booths located on the Messer-Platz offer the usual vast assortment: among others, the booths are outfitted by the Bücherstube Gundi Gaab, the non-profit Heydenmühle, Malplatz Bad Soden, Numero Deux, JS Silk Fashion, my Shiny Shop, the city of Bad Soden and the Slovenian association of culture. Messer employees will be selling bratwurst sausages on the Messer-Platz square as well as mulled wine, juices, sparkling wine and cakes in Bad Soden’s historic station building – all for a good cause.
